April 12, 2014 at 5:52 pm #10809Great stuff, Leo.
Stay well, though.
November 18, 2013 at 10:40 pm #7739That’s a great looking site, Elian. Welcome on board.
PS – you have some Dutch in the final line of your otherwise English language Intro (“…de Symbiostock…”)

Just checked my Alexa ranking and I’m at a fabulous 17,391,391! LOL
Well, to be fair my site only has a little more than a week, it’s still missing 8.000 photos and not advertised it yet. 🙂
What I’d like to know is if people around here have an account in alexa, and if it exists a free option since I could not find one.
Or are you just checking regularly?
There is a free option where you put a code snippet in your header.php file. You have then “claimed” your site à la Google Webmaster Tools.
AFAICT, this doesn’t give you anything over and above the metrics you see by just typing your URL in the box on the Alexa site. You can add a few text items like a site description though.
The next option up is $9.99 per month with a few extra metrics available. More expensive options are available but they are for sites with mahoosive traffic stats.

How did you solve it? Did you slap the server or something?
That usually works for me. Virtual percussive maintenance; a vital weapon in all webmasters’ armoury.

OK but there’s only one dash on a keyboard? Only one dash in ASCII or ANSI standards. Or ???
Well, unicodes for different dashes exist (see here).
But it’s a bit of a non sequitur since we’re discussing domain names where you’d only use the n-dash hyphen. As Jo said, it’s a meatspace problem rather than an online problem.
ETA: I always like discussing language/linguistics/grammar-type stuff though.
November 11, 2013 at 9:49 pm #7151November 11, 2013 at 6:21 am #7281This happened to me very early on and it was related to me changing the WordPress Address URL and the Sitename Address URL in General Settings on the WP Dashboard.
Might this be the case for you?
November 10, 2013 at 7:18 am #7235Hi Michele – I just tested your site on my iPad and can confirm what you’ve seen, for both display and pricing.
I visited my own site and whilst results do stack to the left, my pricing seems ok on a random sample.
There is an odd sliding effect too but this only affects the Network results – results stacked on the left in a single column rhythmically appear on the right before sliding back to the left if there’s more than 5 or 6 images (so that all images in the search results end up displayed in a particular contributor’s panel). This happens with a period of 3 seconds and isn’t affected if I rotate my iPad to landscape orientation.

I’ve hunted all over for the post I *know* I remember seeing, but I can’t find it! I see your images there and I am able to add more to my list just now (and have them show up).
It wasn’t that long ago that I added more than 6 but only 6 were displayed…
Either I’m going batty or something has changed!
At any rate, @dhodac, just add more images to your Symbiostock Featured Images category to see more in your featured images widget 🙂
The Symbiostock instructions/help via the WP Dashboard still say 6 max. That might be the “post”.
Welcome aboard Daniel. You’re in for quite a ride.
