You’re not pestering at all, I just want categories to show up and a slider. I used shortcode for the slider for lack of the widget.

The home page, where I want it to show up, is using the Home Page Template. Currently, I’ve got Latest Images assigned to Home Page (Above Content), Not showing. Categories in Home Page (Beside Content), Not showing. Categories (Below Content), Not showing. Well, you get the picture, they aren’t showing 😉

I’m sure I made a stupid mistake somewhere. So far it seems awesome and I’m really excited about it.

Oddly enough, these widgets don’t seem to work on the Home Page template. Try Home Page Simple or Home Page CTAs.

I was just checking my site to see how Google was doing with the image indexing and was intrigued/bothered to see that where the watermarked previews were expanded (where you see the Visit Page / Visit Image buttons) some of them say “by Ann Snover” – the others have no credit at all.

I have nothing anywhere that shows my name like that – my first name is Jo Ann, with a space and perhaps there’s some brain dead parsing software that is taking the last two words of a name to display.

I have no clue how I would do anything about this – two out of three words is better than you being Leo, but still! The only other good news is that a search for Ann Snover brings up a lot of my pictures and pages, so perhaps people will find their way to me…

We’re getting the same shortening on Google Images. Our copyright name is ‘Colin and Linda McKie’ but Google shows just ‘by Linda McKie’ The embedded copyright is correct.

ETA: A Google Image search on”Colin and Linda McKie” shows nothing directly from PictureMojo.

The preliminary text for that page is at /wp-content/themes/symbiostock/inc/classes/network-manager/interpreter.php from line 171 (in 2.6.5) and we’ve done some edits there.

Shazan basically this isn’t a real issue, you can transfer your domain where you want. If you have an hosting plan with XXX and you are’t happy with them you can open another account with YYY. Then you can transfer your website in your new host. And for what i recall basically you need to contact your new host with some data about your domain, and them do the job for you. Wherever you buy the domain don’t care and no-one cat keep it as an hostage is your property until you renew it.

This was a real problem a few years ago, when some of the big registry/hosting outfits made it very difficult to move a domain away from them. I don’t think it’s such a big deal now, but historically there was a concern.

Widgets not working, I recently upgraded to WP3.6.1, and symbiostock 2.6.5 and Leo’s 1.1.9 premium

    Anyone else found this problem

Those widgets are sensitive to which Home Page template you use. Try changing to a different template and update – Home Page Simple is usually good.

ehhh, correct about the new watermark, did it by myself.
    but also: the standard prices are used in reprocessing;
when you changed prices for a particular image, you have to set that special prices at that particular image there again.

We didn’t have any prices change on reprocessing, and we have three different pricing sets.

That usually means the other site has your search keyword as a promoted keyword. See the Marketing tab for more.

I don’t think anyone has wanted this disabled before.

    Thanks Jo Ann,

I might get around to upgrading this weekend.

You don’t need the upgrade, it’s in the standard editor. Just go to All Images, select Reprocess and go. We’ve just updated the watermark on 2500 files, in batches of 50. It doesn’t affect anything else about the images.

G’day from Colin and Linda McKie! We’re located near Christchurch, New Zealand, and we haven’t had real jobs apart from stock photography since 2005.

We shoot scenic and travel when we can, and food and other studio based subjects when we’re at home. We joined Symbiostock early on because we were fed up with agencies finding ways to pay us less and less, and we’re hopeful that we can all build something big from it.

We can help with most aspects of site setup, basic customising, and trouble-shooting, on the same basic terms as at Leo’s link above. We have several years experience with WordPress and we’ve been part of Symbiostock since the early days.

Contact us at mail@picturemojo.co.nz or by sitemail.
