    Hi Robin,

Without trying to be disrespectful, I don’t know you, or of you. I think many of us are hearing about you for the first time since SymbioStock went into a speed wobble.

What we all are is very confused, and I speak for myself when I say … do I really want to make a decision about this? We have to invest more time into a project that no one seems to treat with the respect it deserves. Now we will have to learn new ways and new methods, and Woo-hoos and What-nots. I write almost fulltime now. and I cannot spend weeks rebuilding a site that I am yet to make a sale on.

So most of us are just watching what is happening from the outside. What happened behind closed doors has never been shared with us.

So how long will this version be out before the rug is pulled out from under our feet again? You will understand that most of us have gone from willing to test, to waiting to see what happens. It took us a while to understand the previous system and then, overnight all of our collective help contributions disappeared.

What happens to our old plugins? Are we expected to buy new premium plugins again?

This might sound negative, but I think given the recent history, it might be merited. I see that there is a new version of SymbioStock as a theme on my end. For the first time since starting with SymbioStock, I have not installed it. I honestly don’t have time to play Russian roulette with unknown updates.

I’m not sure if I understand correctly, but take a look at my site (http://stockyimage.com/). Is this what you are talking about? If so it is all done with widgets on my site. I speak under correction but I did them with only the built in ones.

If not then they may be from SYXtra. If you use the SYXtra plugin just be careful. I think there was an upgrade recently, but I recall that many parts of the plugin were not compatible with the newer versions of SymbioStock. The widgets, however, caused me no problems.

    Hope this helps.

I think this is a good idea, but mostly useful for people who have travel type photos or at least, live in a travel hot spot and take local pictures. I definitely say a yes to this feature. It is yet another way to tie into the Internet and that is always a great idea.

I often look up photos on Google to get a feel for a place. It might not translate directly into sales, but it is good exposure for SymbioStock as a whole.

Sorry to take so long to come try this but I just completed publishing my third book and it has been taking up all my time.

Tested, passed, I’m on Bluehost (not very happy with their performance and they are down far too often). Results as follows:

Well, me too. What I understood is that your login to the backend was different to your visual name on the site, i.e. On the site is says I’m “JoRodrigues” as a user, but my login is actually “@#$%Jo!@#$%”. So the name shown on the posts etc. is your ‘public’ name, not your login name. An alias for your real login. When people try to login as your alias, they are looking for trouble and you can auto ban them for however long you desire.

There is a way to do this using an IP. If anyone tries to login from another IP other than yours, it is taken as an intruder. The challenge with the IP is that many uses are assigned a new IP every time the log on or the router/modem gets reset.

The one nitwit kept doing just that to try to get into my dot com so I banned the whole IP range. Unfortunately it blocks everyone else on that ISP provider. That reminds me that I must go unblock that IP range ….

This is a great idea! Anyone uses the username and boom! An auto-ban for 24 hours! I like it! Make it so, my good man! 😀

As far as I understand it, one can use it freely, so I don’t see why not. Just drop him an email and ask.

What is irritating is that it is all done via a command line. What is great is that all it takes is a bat file to write/erase dozens of sections and lines to dozens of files with one click.

I should write some sort of damñ variable so I can right click on files and run my bat … but I’ve been lazy. I absolutely loath code LOL! I have a fix path folder, move the files in, click the bat file, press cntrl+z to move the files back to where they came from, complete with new metadata hehe. Madman’s logic.
