    Dreamstime has this feature and I have to say I don’t use it. My camera doesn’t automatically record location and given the extra work involved to click on their map, I skip it.

    I could be completely wrong, but I get the impression that people looking for a specific location (and I’m sure there are many types of outdoor images where that’s the case) will type in a keyword, either generic – such as Caribbean – or specific – such as Santa Monica Pier.

    If I thought this was something that would address some buyer need – something that would make “shopping” much more fun or easier for them – I’d absolutely put in the work to add that information

    I wouldn’t want to miss an important trend, but I also don’t have time to waste, and thus far I haven’t seen geo tagging really do much for stock photography (as in Dreamstime is a bottom feeder in the top tier and I’d have figured their sales might have improved relative to the top performers if this was something useful)

    I can see the bug now. I’m assuming there’s something in the image preview code that is not checking correctly to see what sizes are available, although I notice that it doesn’t offer vectors (for example) something else that isn’t available. If you upload a new image – I assume your default is now to have only one size available for all images – do you have the same bug?

    It might help Leo narrow down the bug to be fixed if we knew if it was always this way or if it only applied to images that were changed after their initial upload.

    I can’t see the multiple prices anywhere. When you say “but when in categories i click on the +sign” I don’t know where to find that. If I use the menu at the top to pick a category and then select an image, I see only the one price (which I assume is what you wish to be seen?)

    I must be missing something. I’m using Chrome on a Mac if that makes any difference.

    Welcome! I had a little browse on your site and noticed a couple of things.

    You have a great image on the front page of a colorful night scene, but I can’t click on it and buy it – I browsed for uploads so far and I didn’t see it online yet. I’d make uploading that a priority as it’s a great shot and you don’t want someone who likes it to leave your site because they can’t buy it!

    The other thing was the spelling of secure in the right-most call to action box (you left out an e).

    In general, it’s best to leave the extension alone – if you are given .jpeg, use that, and if .jpg use that. It’s OK to have a default if there’s no extension on an incoming file (but that’s a highly unlikely case).

    There are some environments that use the extension to determine file type and there’s no telling how things could get messed up in advance if you force one or the other.

    You get the batch editor with the premium plugin so you’ll be able to change existing images after the fact. You can also then set the defaults for all new uploads so they get your licenses automatically.

    I’d say that better search, licenses, hover previews and the batch editor are the big reasons to get the premium plugin. I’m not a fan of the Twitter integration (I find the tweets annoying to receive so I don’t send them :)) but that’s a very personal thing. I have done a collection once as a promo item, but in general don’t have things that I think make sense to sell that way. If you do, then that’s a big plus of the plugin.

    Did you realize we’re now over 280,000 images? And 185 sites? It’s nice to see the numbers keep moving up…

    Slightly off topic, I was thinking about some way to cheaply say “thanks” to buyers and decided that I’d put together a small file with a thank you message and some isolated images that might be broadly useful. The file is 1000 pixels square, so the individual items are very small, but I referred to it as the equivalent to the mint on the pillow (or those candy dishes some restaurants have as you exit). I figured that it might be a nice small touch for each customer’s first purchase (and so far each one has been a new customer; I’ll worry about repeats when I have some :))

    It wasn’t a new or particularly pretty image – but that often happens; I remember selling an EL of an isolated tin can once on Shutterstock and wondering what on earth they were planning to do with it!

    I’m not sure I understand what you’re seeing, but I think it’s a symptom of when a browser has run out of memory/encountered a bug and you get a bunch of lines in Times New Roman, all the same size, no graphics?

    If that’s the case, you can usually get things back by quitting and restarting your browser or, if that doesn’t do it, restarting your computer.

    I’m not certain, but there may be cases where the messed up code/environment is on the server, not your computer, in which case time to call support for your hosting company.

    After a very long dry spell, I had a nice surprise – an extended license on a Large sale – so $70 ($67.67 after PayPal takes its cut). I haven’t had an EL before.

    No, but I use Anti-Captcha (plugin) to ward that sort of thing off. It doesn’t put any barriers in the way of humans, but sticks up captchas for bots (with code that isn’t visible in the UI, so if any input is given, it knows it’s a bot and ignores it).
