Symbiostock Video – PHP

I wish to install Symbiostock Video, my host says they can execute shell commands from within PHP and says “but it depends on which commands it wants to execute.” Can you provide more information so I can inform my host before purchase.

Symbiostock Video has an executable that comes bundled with it called ffmpeg. That’s all it needs to execute.

My host has replied “ffmpeg is not able to be installed on our shared hosting packages as this particular bundle is to resource heavy this wouldn’t be allowed”

Do you have any suggestions.

Absolutely nothing we can do about that. They are basically saying it is too server intensive to be permitted. Video processing can be server intensive, but it’s all up to the host at times.

Maybe an option is to use Vimeo Pro Ondemand and embed to my site, I presume its possible to do this embed from within Symbiostock

It’s possible to do anything like that, but you would need to code it up yourself for your theme and integrate it with Symbiostock somehow.
