    Hello  there,

I purchased the video plugins, however once uploaded I get this error message:

    <span style=”color: #444444; font-family: ‘Open Sans’, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.2px;”> </span><span style=”color: #444444; font-family: ‘Open Sans’, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.2px;”>Failed to create video preview for product</span><span style=”color: #444444; font-family: ‘Open Sans’, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.2px;”> </span>

I tried with different format such as mp4, mov etc..

    Does anyone know the reason?

    Thanks

Hi there – PM me your login information and I’ll try to take a look.

It is certainly a server issue, just need to figure out what kind of server issue.

Are you on a shared hosting account? If so, contact your host to confirm that they support ffmpeg video conversions and are providing sufficient memory and CPU for it. You cannot process videos on most shared accounts that do not have high memory provisions.

This is explained on the plugin page.

We are on a dedicated server at Hetzner in Germany. It’s one of their managed servers. I called the ISP with the query and they sent me to a page that provided all info on the service as standard. In Imageick I see mpeg is supported, but did not see ffmpeg. I can ask for it to be enabled if you can provide some specific instructions?

In preview that table looked just fine . . . see it’s stripped out now and just provides the code.

If you’re on a dedicated server there should be no issue at all. Can you PM me your WP login info as well as SSH access to your server?

    Thanks.

So the issue was Alistair is running on a 32bit version of Linux and the ffmpeg that bundles with Symbiostock Video is 64 bit. We’ll add a failsafe for this now.

I’m seeing this “Failed to create video preview for product” issue on an Amazon Lightsail WordPress instance with these specs:

    Virtual Server (Linux)
    512 MB Memory
    1 Core Processor
    20 GB SSD Disk
    1TB Transfer

I think I saw that you recommend using Lightsail. Are there any setting changes that you know need to be done before the server can handle the processing of video files?

Do you have any stock video website using the plugin?
I would like to see examples of some of your clients using it.

Do you know how much is the price to use Amazon Lighsail?

No, I’m building my own site using Symbiostock and it’s still in dev.

The virtual server with the specs I posted above is $3.50/month https://aws.amazon.com/lightsail/pricing/

Ohh I thought you were part of the SymbioStock team.

In my case, I have about 2TB of stock videos to sell, therefore the Amazon Lighsail might be extremely expensive.

Good luck with your site 😉
